History

Calvary Chapel of Manassas (CCoM), started with a handful of people, meeting as an adult Bible study and youth outreach. Soon a small fellowship began to form. After meeting for several years in a store front location, the Lord opened the door for the church building we are currently in today.

Our vision was to follow the example of Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa - - to faithfully teach the Word of God, knowing that "healthy sheep beget healthy sheep."

Through the years we have grown, seeing many individuals as well as entire families placing their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Today, we are continuing to build the Body of Christ through the teaching of His Word. We are also enjoying the opportunities God is providing through open doors to minister in other nations around the world.

"And Jesus came and spoke to them saying,
' All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of this age.'
Amen."

~ Matthew 28:18-20

Service Times

Our main services are on Sunday mornings and Wednesday Evenings. Sunday morning service starts at 11:00 AM. Wednesday evenings service begins at 7PM. Full child-care is available at all services.

Worship Services

We welcome visitors at all of our services and events. Worship summarizes all that we do as we live for God, but on Sundays we express our worship to God together through singing and listening to the teaching of the Bible.

The messages focus on the meaning of a portion of the Bible in its original context and show its relevance for our lives today. We tend to teach verse by verse through a book of the Bible. We encourage people to bring a Bible to follow along. Bibles are available in the pews.

Getting Involved

The Bible likens the church to a spiritual family, so we encourage people to get to know one another and establish friendships. This doesn't happen easily in large groups, as we have in our worship services. So we offer a wide variety of smaller group fellowships throughout the week. We have found that the best way to build significant relationships is to get involved in serving.

How should I dress when I come?

Calvary invites anyone interested in hearing the message of God's grace, and does not require a certain type of dress to attend. On any given time, you will find people wearing everything from suits to shorts. Since God looks at men's hearts and not their outward appearance (1Samuel 16:7), we endeavor to do so as well. The most common form of dress could be best described as "casual."
